A Spring Statement

It’s officially Spring! Celebrate, by treating yourself (or someone you love) to one of these floral beauties!

Don’t you love it when you’re having a little social media scroll and something stops you in your tracks; something that, for a change, isn’t an endless compilation of cute pets doing silly things (surely not just my algorithm?!)

Today, with the sun shining and a hint of warmth in the air (finally!), this gorgeous creation popped up and we had to delve a little more…

A work of art, right?

Eternal fans of a seasonal wreath here, this is the handiwork of Devon flower farmer Lucy Parker.

From her eco-friendly and sustainable cut flower farm on the edge of Plymouth, she’s been growing seasonal blooms since 2021. You can only imagine the scents that will be wafting from that field just weeks from now.  We’re not talking your bog-standard supermarket offering, either. Think wild garden charm, from sweet peas to dahlias and you’ll be on the nose, quite literally!

But these dried flower masterpieces are the results of Lucy’s winter work – and what a perfect way to preserve her flowers and give us something vibrant and pretty to welcome in the new season!

At £45, we think they’d make a great alternative gift for Mother’s Day (hint hint), with staying power to see you through the Easter festivities and beyond. Be quick though, there’s only a limited number left, until Lucy’s field blooms once again and she gets to build up this year’s supply.

If you’re local to Plymouth, you can see Lucy and her creations in real life at the upcoming inaugural Urban Treasure Market on April 6th and then at the next Native Makers Market on April 12th, which is always worth a visit, in our opinion.  And, excitingly, we’ve just heard that this year Lucy will be opening her field up for Pick Your Own sessions from June. Bliss!

But for now, race you to these wreaths before they sell out!
