Oh, hi!

Welcome to the new happy place for Devon dwellers.

Wherever you are metaphorically in your journey through life, we’re making an educated guess that, physically, you’re in Devon*.

And maybe you’ve a mild curiosity - or a keen interest - in wellness in its many forms? Pull up a chair - we’ve already plenty in common.

*the best place on the planet [verified by us].

So, what exactly is Dwell Devon?

There is so much chatter around getting - and staying - well in a world that can feel chaotic and fraught at times; and we are starting a conversation on a local level. Dwell Devon gives you permission to press mute on all the stressful stuff for a while, and instead explore a platform that’s dedicated to promoting health and happiness in both mind and body. Spoiler: we live in a county full of people and places to inspire you!

It’s our mission to help you connect with this beautiful county…

…And experience all it offers to the full. Sometimes, we can all be guilty of merely existing in our little patch. But, you were savvy enough to settle here, now’s your moment to remind yourself why. Mood-boosting walks? Happy hangouts to nourish you head-to-toe? Weekends that are good for the soul? We’ve got you. As you explore Where to Dwell, you’ll find a whole world of content that’s relevant, inspiring and celebrates living in Devon.

But Dwell is also a platform full of news, reviews and ideas designed to get you thinking, maybe even sparking a few healthier habits. Whether that’s a small act of self-care in the form of a facial, or a life-changing lifestyle overhaul, our Journal is our space to tell you about our community of businesses, brands and people all doing wondrous things in the world of wellness.

So why take our word for it?

Well, we reckon we’re pretty well placed to share all that we know. I’m Sharon, by the way, Editor, Mum, wife, and of course a Devon dweller. I’m also a journalist and a television producer and, full disclosure, I haven’t always looked after my own health because, well, life. I’ve spent a lot of time writing, filming, and exploring the world around me, whether far-flung or on my doorstep. And, as previous founding editor of Muddy Stilettos Devon I’ve already come across so many talented people and brilliant businesses in this neck of the woods. Good mental health is something I refuse to take for granted.

And joining me is Jane, Editorial Producer. She technically lives in Cornwall (just, shhh!), but her roots are very much Devonian. She also works in PR, social media and is a television production manager [yep: busy], so seeking new content and clever storytelling is her lifeblood.

A pretty good combo, we’re often told!

Between us, we’ve made programmes about hotels, properties, beautiful journeys around the world, cooking and adventure. But we also bring a wealth of life experiences and a shared passion for always learning and self-care, however that looks. We’re not masquerading as the experts on all things, but when we’re not, we’re pretty good at finding those who are, so we’ve got this!

 Want in on the latest?

We’re super-excited to be writing for you and would love this to grow into a platform that’s fun, friendly, and useful. And if we can help make tomorrow just that little bit brighter, then we’ll take that as a win.

Hope you enjoy it and if you do please tell everyone else about it. All Dwellers welcome!

S & J x

 A note on the features you’ll read…

· Dwell Devon is a positive and trusted guide. The people, places and experiences you’ll read about will be personal recommendations from us (and when they’re not, we’ll tell you).
· We work with and promote businesses and brands that we feel are relevant to our readers and align with our own ethos and brand.
· Sometimes, an experience or product may be offered to us on a complimentary basis, in return for a review; this makes the process a viable one for us. However, in the spirt of remaining an upbeat, honest platform that readers trust, regardless of whether any payment has taken place, we’ll only feature those we can hand-on-heart shout about.
· Finally, and importantly, please don’t ask us to engage in whether jam or cream should go first*. Great big dollops of both and don’t overthink it, is the impartial advice…
