Shiny Newness Incoming!

Cornish womenswear brand Pebble is about to make a splash a stone’s throw away in Plymouth (and yes, we’re here for all the puns!)

Ladies, we have news.

There’s a new indie in town and we’ve cleared space in our wardrobes in anticipation!

Womenswear boutique Pebble opens its doors in Royal William Yard’s Arcade on Sunday 5th October, which also happens to coincide with market day (hurrah) – we feel a leisurely little mooch coming on…

You may already be familiar with this brand, which has stores across the Tamar in Looe, Falmouth and Saltash.  But it’s the first venture into Devon, promising a thoughtfully curated collection of clothing, accessories and gifts – just in time for a new season wardrobe and, dare we say it, Christmas!

Pebble is the second business to set up shop at Arcade, which is a collection of six cute new retail units housed within the Grade I listed Brewhouse building.

A welcome addition to the Yard’s food-focused offering, Arcade is already home to Nala’s Pet Co, which launched over the summer and has garnered quite the furry fan club with its range of high-end food, treats and accessories. If you’ve not yet been, do pop in and say hi to Tom. He’s ace.

So, what do we know about Pebble so far?

Well, it’s a family-run affair, born from the deeply personal journey of founder Zoe Groom.  Having just completed two gruelling years of breast cancer treatment, a much-needed holiday gave Zoe time to reflect and plan what next. And what came next was the creation of a store that’s accessible to women of all ages, with clothing designed to be inclusive and versatile.

Since the first opening in 2022, Pebble has created ripples in its local communities, sponsoring a girls’ football team, hosting breast cancer awareness events and playing a part in seasonal town celebrations.

And now, it’s Devon’s turn. Expect a handpicked curation of lovely brands, from homegrown and sustainable, to Scandi cool. Highlights include Denmark’s Ichi, jewellery from Hayle-based Lucy Kemp and Merry People boots, featured in Elle and The Guardian no less.

We’re excited for this one and we’ve already booked in for our first session of retail therapy.

So we’ll see you there, yes?
