Winter (and Christmas) Wrapped Up!

Just as the weather finally gets with the season and takes a chillier turn, we discover a Devon-born lifestyle brand waiting in the wings with a cosy hug!
Meet Farmer & Weaver, a name to know if you’re in the market for some beautiful new blankets and homewares to warm things up this Christmas.
The couple behind this lovely brand, Alex and Lauren, produce their wares from their farm located on the edge of Salcombe (and you thought it was all ice creams and summery nautical stripes in this neck of the woods!)
Here, their Devon Closewool and Herdwick sheep (the stars) are reared slowly and kindly, resulting in the creation of some seriously soft wool. Then comes the crafting in the workshops (keeping it British), where those dreamt up designs are transformed into a covetable collection of blankets, rugs, bolsters and more.
Just wrap us up like a pig-in-a-blanket, thank you very much.
Gorgeous colours, aren’t they? And all inspired by the epic natural landscapes of the coast and moors on the doorstep.
We love that this is a story of two novice farmers, with a piece of rented land and a dream. Alex and Lauren found a field and, after years of work, care and learning built their home and farm. First came a farm shop, The Salcombe Meat Company – a huge success in its own right - and then, as the flock of six sheep grew, along with an abundance of high-quality wool, those creative muscles were fully flexed and Farmer & Weaver was born.
“Ten years ago,” Alex says, “neither of us imagined we would become farmers, let alone creators of artisanal wool textiles.
“We took a leap of faith…What began as a modest agricultural experiment has grown into two interconnected businesses that celebrate the entire journey from farm to table, and from fleece to fabric”.
