We were recently treated to a little look around Dartmouth Grove, a clutch of eleven luxury holiday lodges nestled in the peaceful confines of a championship golf course, just a few miles from buzzy Dartmouth.
Being located on a private driveway within the grounds of the Dartmouth Hotel & Spa means there’s lots to love about these lodges. For starters, you’re close enough to one of the county’s prettiest coastal towns, whilst being far enough removed from the crowds during holiday season. You’re also mere yards from the thrills of Woodlands theme park for the young (or young at heart). And then of course, you’ve a spa, health club and an impressive golf course, literally, on your doorstep (and discounted for lodgers, naturally), complete with bar and bistro for those days when cooking feels a faff.
And all that before we get to the spec.
Each lodge will come furnished (very tastefully), with three bedrooms, one of them ensuite. We were really impressed at how light and roomy they feel, which only gets better when you throw open the doors to your terrace, fire up your hot tub (yep, there is one) and pop a cork, while you keep an eye on the golf.
It’s quite easy to see why snapping up one of these can make a lot of sense, wherever you are in life. Families may love the convenience of regular, year-round holidays, without the stress of travel; anyone approaching retirement may want to consider this a viable and attractive lifestyle (just think – no chain, no legal and conveyancing fees). And for those looking for an investment, it’s a sound second home option, without encroaching on the local housing and without the second home council tax. There’s even a fully managed holiday letting service available and ready to go if that’s the route you want to take.
